Our team of experienced Accredited Family Mediators have long experience of working with family mediation disputes. They come from a range of backgrounds, including Legal, Therapeutic, Social Work and Education and Finance. Our team are ideally qualified to support you through these difficult decisions.

Mabel Edge

Director - Family Mediator & Professional Practice Consultant (PPC)

Mabel owns Children 1st Mediation, which now incorporates Cheltenham Mediation. She has over 20 years of experience in a range of dispute resolution services and business management. She is a highly experienced Family Mediator with additional qualification’s and accreditations in Family Mediation, as Professional Practice Consultant (PPC) responsible for supervising and training other Family Mediators, Child Inclusive Mediation and SEN Mediation.  She is an expert in complex child welfare and public law cases, having developed the UK’s first specialist model of Child Welfare Mediation.

With advanced training in working with families where alienation behaviours are being alleged and adopts a range of restorative solution-focused approached to help families resolve even the most challenging cases outside of the adversarial court process

Rose Keyte

Consultant Mediator

Rose is a Family Mediation Council accredited mediator and a member of the Family Mediators Association and also a Child Inclusive mediator.  She practised locally for over 25 years as a family solicitor and has extensive experience of dealing with complex financial disputes and issues concerning children between spouses, civil partners and cohabitees. She is committed to trying to help parents and couples resolve their disputes in as non-confrontational a manner as possible and has mediated successfully with this aim for many years.

Anne-Lise Wall

Consultant Mediator

Anne-Lise is a senior mediator accredited with the Family Mediators Association and the Family Mediation Council. She practiced as a family lawyer for over 30 years maintaining her mediation practice throughout. She was one of the first family lawyers to train as a mediator in the early 1990’s. Anne-Lise’s career as a Family Lawyer led her to believe strongly that the pain and distress of the divorce court could be avoided using the mediation process. By talking in a calm, supported and structured way, couples can resolve difficult issues relating to parenting their children, or dealing with their finances following separation or divorce, in such a way that they retain control. Anne-Lise has mediated very many cases in this way with great success.

Peter Shaw

Consultant Mediator, Professional Practice Consultant (PPC)

A former partner in a South West law firm, Peter began mediating in 2006. After transitioning from his career as a solicitor, he balanced mediation with a role as a specialist advisor for Citizens Advice before becoming a full-time mediator in 2020.

Peter is an FMC-accredited mediator, and a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC), He draws on his extensive legal and advisory background to help fmilies navigate complex disputes.

Lisa Holden

Consultant Mediator

Lisa is an FMC-accredited mediator. She is a solicitor and former partner, with over 30 years of experience in all aspects of family issues.  Lisa trained as a mediator in 2009.

Lisa is highly experienced in both financial and children mediation, with a specialised expertise in complex financial cases including pensions and family businesses. Also a qualified Child Inclusive Mediator, she combines a warm, empathetic style with the professional neutrality and technical skill required to reach successful outcomes.

Tim Hudson

Consultant Mediator

Tim joined the team in following his qualification into mediation. Coming from a professional background in business, then education, he brings extensive knowledge of family dynamics, neurodiversity, and working with children with SEND.

Tim is deeply committed to the positive impact mediation can have in helping clients resolve conflict and move forward with their lives.

Georgie Shmuel

Consultant Mediator

Georgie has been a practising, FMC-accredited mediator since 2018. She is a former solicitor, trained in child-inclusive and in-court mediation.

Her approach is kind, measured, and pragmatic. Having seen the stress of litigation firsthand, she is committed to helping families resolve financial and child arrangements constructively outside of court wherever possible. Currently training as a separation and divorce coach, Georgie provides a calm, non-judgmental environment in which clients feel supported to reach agreements that enable them to move forward with confidence.

Fran Hughes

Consultant Mediator

Fran has been an FMC-accredited Family Mediator since 2023 following a career as a commercial solicitor. Her legal expertise is complemented by extensive voluntary experience, including work with Citizens Advice, school governance, and prison rehabilitation.

Fran is also a qualified Child Inclusive Mediator. Outside of her professional practice, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with three children who are now young adults.

Malki Robinson

Consultant Mediator, Professional Practice Consultant (PPC)

Malki brings over 15 years of experience to her practice. She is an FMC-accredited mediator. Her proficiency and integrity are highly regarded by both clients and legal professionals.

With a professional background in finance, Malki is well-placed to resolve complex financial settlements. She is also a qualified Child Inclusive Mediator and an Accredited SEN Mediator, specialising in child arrangements and special educational needs. Malki focuses on guiding couples toward tailored, practical decisions that support their unique family requirements through separation and beyond.

Jill Patrick

Consultant Mediator

Jill became an accredited mediator in 1998, initially alongside her work as a family-law solicitor. Drawing on her professional expertise and personal experience as a parent, she then delivered court-ordered courses for separated parents, which fuelled her passion for improving the lives of children. She has since trained as a psychotherapist, specialising in trauma. She is qualified in child-inclusive mediation.

Jill enjoys helping families to find practical solutions that make life less stressful in both financial and child-related cases, and provides a calming, approachable space for honest discussion.

Thanks Rose for your hours of hard work, patience, clear mindedness, goal sightedness, impeccable neutrality and personableness throughout the process. Administration Staff

Your first contact is likely to be with one of two assistants, Lynda Taylor or Georgina FitzGerald , who look after the day to day conduct of your file. Both will be able to assist you with any queries regarding the process of mediation.

Lynda joined us in April 2023 after gaining extensive administration experience in the private and public sector.

Georgina joined us in June 2019, having spent most of her career working as solicitor specialising in family law.
